Congress leaders await a good offer from BJP to change party, alleges Chief Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan slammed the Congress while addressing the assembly here on Monday. He criticized that Congress leaders are awaiting a big offer from BJP to change sides.

“The leaders have completely changed Congress into a party waiting to be transformed as BJP. How can Keralites believe such a party?,” asked Pinarayi Vijayan.

He was responding to the allegations raised by the opposition while discussing the no-confidence motion against the government.

“The opposition is lacking confidence in themselves. The bond between the allies in UDF is shattering. When they are failing to present credible matters, the allies are losing trust in UDF, said CM.

He also raised suspicion over UDF’s no-confidence motion as a move to hide the disturbances within their front.

Meanwhile, he asserted that public support for the LDF government is increasing. Due to the public support, the seats of the government in the assembly rose to 93 from 91. UDF had expected a curtailment in development in the state. UDF does not trust anyone who has public support, he added.

The Chief Minister also condemned the Congress for supporting Ayodha temple construction as a central government programme.

“Public elects a government to guard secularism and experience better governance. The last election results revealed the public support to LDF. Has anything happened to turn this trust to distrust? We should examine whether the public lost trust in LDF government,” he added.

The Chief Minister also pointed out the developments in health, education sectors and improvement in standard of living under the LDF government.
