Cherad: After hearing the news of the rescue team successfully lifting Babu from the crevice on the steep hill, his mother expressed her utmost happiness to Mathrubhumi News. During the entire mission she was confident that Babu will return home safe.

District Collector Mrunmai Joshi trekked the hill and supervised the rescue operations. MLA Shafi Parambil also extended his support, said Babu’s mother.

She was optimistic from the moment the army personnel arrived to rescue Babu. She expressed her gratitude to everyone present there to save her son.

Meanwhile, she was also conscious over the offence committed by Babu entering the reserved forest area of Cheradu. The Kerala Forest Department had earlier warned visitors of risks in trekking the steep Kurumbachi hill. She said that she will definitely scold him for attempting an adventurous hike, that too in an extremely dangerous site where entry is prohibited.

It was for the first time that Babu mounted the hill and his mother was not aware of it. She is also guilty that her son undertook an illegal trekking and requested the youth to stay away from such alarming endeavours.

Babu’s mother said that she didn't cry upon hearing the news as she hoped Babu could be rescued. However, she collapsed a few minutes after the completion of the rescue mission and soon regained consciousness. She arrived at Palakkad district hospital where Babu was taken in an ambulance.
