Thiruvananthapuram: Following the Chief Minister announcement, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala arrived in the state capital on Friday morning. After offering prayers at Guruvayur Temple, Chennithala reached Thampanoor Railway Station, where Congress workers gave him a warm reception. Supporters welcomed him with slogans “Kanne Karale Chennithale” and “We have only one leader.”

He said that he usually visits Guruvayur on the first day of every Malayalam month and that Friday’s visit was part of that routine. Chennithala continued to maintain silence on whether he would be part of the new cabinet. He told reporters that he had already clarified all necessary matters earlier in the day and had nothing further to add.

Avoiding questions regarding his possible inclusion in the new ministry, Chennithala reiterated that he stood by the statements he had made in the morning before returning home.

Meanwhile, shortly after reaching home, he reportedly left again, citing a private visit. Reports had emerged that VD Satheesan was expected to meet him, and it was in this context that Chennithala left the house.

Earlier in the morning, Chennithala had welcomed the Congress high command’s decision to entrust VD Satheesan with the new responsibility. He also extended his best wishes and full support to Satheesan. Chennithala added that the decision on who should be included in the new cabinet rests with the Chief Minister.
