Forest Department to train public on rescuing snakes in March

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Forest Department organised a two-day training programme for Beat Forest Officers on rescuing snakes scientifically. It has been decided to provide training for the public at the district level in March.

78 beat officers undertook the training held at SAP camp in Peroorkada on Wednesday. Deputy Director of the training school in Arippa, Muhammad Anwar, Range Forest Officer Ramya, Beat Forest Officer Roshni and SARPA Coordinator of Thiruvananthapuram M Sarath administered the training under the supervision of forest department official Neethu Lakshmi.

The officers will get a certificate for rescuing the snakes after the successful completion of the training.

The forest department started to render training for snake rescuing in 2019 and certified over 60 persons so far.
