Abandoned cartridges found in Kollam are Pak-made, say police

Kollam: The abandoned cartridges found in Kulathupuzha here, were made in Pakistan, police said. This was confirmed after detailed examination of the cartridges. Higher police officers have reached the spot for further examination.
The cartridges are inscribed with POF for Pakistan Ordnance Factories.
On Saturday14 numbers of 7.62mm cartridges were found in an abandoned state, in a cover near the Muppathadi bridge. These cartridges are used in machine guns.
As the matter comes under national security, it is reported that NIA would be probing the case.
Some people who were resting near the bridge had found the cartridges in a plastic cover. They inspected the abandoned cover upon suspicion. Finding cartridges inside, they informed police.
Preliminary assumption was these cartridges might have been abandoned by hunters who go to the forests for hunting.
