Woman stung by bees dies in Idukki

Nedumkandam (Idukki): An elderly woman dies in a freak accident as bees attacked her. The incident took place at Nedumkantam, as MN Thulasi (70), who was sitting in the verandah of her house was attacked by bees when a hawk pecked down the beehive on a tree in front of the house.   

As the beehive fell down, the bees fiercely attacked Thulasi. Having physical ailments, Thulasi fell down from her seat. Her grandkids Athul and Amal who rushed to the spot on hearing the cries of their grandmother, were also attacked by the bees. 

The local residents too rushed to the spot and took Thulasi and her grandchildren to Nedumkantam Taluk hospital. As she was seriously injured, Thulasi was later shifted to Theni medical college hospital. While she was undergoing treatment, Thulasi breathed her last in the night at the hospital. 

The mortal remains of Thulasi have been kept at Theni Medical College hospital . Post Mortem will be held later.
