Kerala’s Operation Toofan gets praise from Australia’s Consul General

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s fight against drugs and its Operation Toofan campaign came in for praise from Australia during a meeting between Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Australian Consul General in Chennai, Silai Zaki.

The Australian Consul General expressed appreciation for Kerala’s anti-drug initiatives after Chennithala briefed her on the state’s ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related activities, including details of Operation Toofan.

The meeting was held at the Home Minister’s chamber, where Chennithala explained the measures being undertaken in Kerala as part of its broader fight against drugs. The Consul General listened with interest to the details of the state’s initiatives and conveyed her appreciation for the efforts.

The discussions were not limited to Kerala’s anti-drug campaign. Various development projects in Kerala were also taken up during the meeting.

Australian Vice Consul Kat Knapp was also present during the discussions.

The Australian delegation presented a gift to the Home Minister before leaving after the meeting.
