Audio recording of Alappuzha CPM leader threatening Kerala cop surfaces

Alappuzha:  In a massive embarrassment for CPM, an audio recording of a party leader threatening a Kerala police official has surfaced.

CPM Kanjikuzhy Local Committee member Hebin Das had allegedly threatened senior CPO Shine K Das of Narcotic Cell after cops caught youngsters using drugs during a surprise inspection.

Earlier, the Crime Branch unit of Kerala Police filed a report to District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) regarding the use of banned substances by a group of youngsters at the Kanjikuzhy Block Office.

Later, a group of youngsters, including cousin of Hiben Das, were caught during a surprise raid conducted by DANSAF team. The officials also seized the youth's phone and asked him to appear in person at the station.

The police action is said to have infuriated Hebin, who contacted a police official and issued a threat with severe repercussions for how they had acted. The audio recordings of their phone conversation were thereafter circulated on party social media groups, and many party members called for disciplinary action against Hebin.
