21-year-old Arya Rajendran to be Thiruvananthapuram Mayor

Thiruvananthapuram: 21-year-old Arya Rajendran is likely to be the Mayor for Thiruvananthapuram corporation. Arya will become the youngest Mayor in the history of the state if she takes office.
Arya Rajendran’s name was recommended by the CPM district secretariat convened on Friday. She is currently the state president of Balasangam and also a state level officer bearer of SFI.
The district secretariat recommended Arya’s name in order to push for a Mayor belonging to the younger generation.
Earlier, Jameela Sreedharan, who won from Peroorkada ward and Gayathri Babu from Vanchiyoor ward were linked to the Mayor post.
