‘I’m overjoyed, and it seems unbelievable’, says Anand Ekarshi, director of ‘Aattam’

Thiruvananthapuram: The national awards, including that of best feature film, for ‘Aattam’, have come as a surprise, said Anand Ekarshi, director of the film. “And it seems quite unbelievable too”, he said. 

The film has won three awards, including the Best Feature Film award at this year’s National Film Awards, making Kerala and Malayalam cinema proud. Apart from the Best Film award, Aattam also received awards for Best Screenplay and Best Editing, with Anand Ekarshi and Mahesh Bhuvanend being honored respectively.

“I am grateful to Dr. Ajith Joe, the producer of the film, and actor Vinay Forrt for making this film happen,” said Anand. “It was a great gesture on Dr. Ajith Joe’s part to produce a film like Aattam. I just can’t express my happiness in words; I feel overjoyed. This is an unbelievable achievement. Had it not been for the wholehearted support of Vinay Forrt, this film would not have been possible,” Anand said.

“All the crew members who stood by me right from the beginning of the film deserve this accolade,” he added.
