Impressive performance despite defeat: BJP likely to elevate Sobha Surendran in party ranks

Alappuzha: Kerala's BJP vice president and the party's candidate for the Alappuzha Lok Sabha election, Sobha Surendran, who put up a commendable fight in the constituency, has been summoned by the saffron party's leadership to Delhi. She has been informed to arrive in Delhi by Sunday morning. It is probable that the leader will be given a promotion in the party's organisational hierarchy for her notable performance.

It is worth noting that although Congress' K.C. Venugopal won in Alappuzha with a majority of 63,513 votes, Sobha put up a strong fight. She garnered 2,99,648 votes, surpassing the vote count of the BJP candidate in 2019, who received 1,87,729 votes.
