Alappuzha bypass inauguration: Can't wait for PM any longer, says G Sudhakaran
Alappuzha: PWD minister G Sudhakaran stated that the state cannot wait for the prime minister any longer for the inauguration of Alappuzha bypass.
“The prime minister had expressed interest to inaugurate the bypass. But he has not responded regarding this for the last two months. We will wait for one more month and then the state government will inaugurate the bypass,” the minister said.
A letter was received from the Ministry of Surface Transport on November 20. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed interest to inaugurate the bypass. We contacted him back and said we are happy about his decision. Then no further communication took place for the last 55 days, he added.
“We have asked Nitin Gadkari to inform a date for inauguration at the earliest. If the assembly election is scheduled for April, the bypass should be inaugurated in February before the model code of conduct comes into force,” the minister told Mathrubhumi News.
The government suspects that some malicious people are trying to delay the inauguration so that the project is not opened during the tenure of this government. If the inauguration is delayed any further, the state government will inaugurate the bypass, as per reports.
