Adani Ports launches ₹600 cr logistics park in Kalamassery under ‘Invest in Kerala’ | VIDEO

Kalamassery (Kerala): Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has initiated the development of the Adani Logistics Park in Kalamassery, Kochi, with a groundbreaking ceremony officiated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
This initiative forms a crucial part of Kerala’s ‘Invest in Kerala’ programme aimed at enhancing infrastructure and driving economic development in the state.
The project represents a major milestone in Kerala’s ambition to become a leading hub for logistics and industrial growth.
Situated strategically in Kochi—an emerging centre for industrial and logistics activity—the park spans more than 70 acres. It is designed to cut transportation costs, support just-in-time operations, and boost export capabilities across sectors such as e-commerce, FMCG/FMCD, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and retail.
The facility will incorporate EV charging points, smart logistics technologies, and digital integration, highlighting a focus on sustainability and innovation.
With an investment exceeding Rs 600 crore, the park is projected to create over 1,500 jobs, promoting local employment, skill enhancement, and economic expansion while providing small and medium enterprises opportunities to grow within the supply chain ecosystem.
Ashwani Gupta, Whole-Time Director and CEO of APSEZ, remarked, “The Kalamassery Logistics Park marks a significant milestone in APSEZ's transformation from a ports-focused enterprise into a fully integrated transport and logistics business. As one of our largest efforts in this direction, the Park will play a pivotal role in strengthening our logistics presence in southern India, supporting local manufacturing and regional growth. We remain committed to building world-class infrastructure that advances sustainability, connectivity, and national progress.”
Minister for Law, Industries and Coir P Rajeeve added, “The Kalamassery Logistics Park reflects APSEZ's vision for smart, sustainable infrastructure that drives trade, empowers communities, and connects markets. More than a logistics hub, it is a catalyst for inclusive growth and regional transformation. As APSEZ's first logistics park in Kochi, it will offer a seamless, end-to-end digital experience from gate entry to invoicing, ensuring zero-touch operations for enhanced customer convenience, operational transparency, and real-time visibility across the supply chain.”
Part of the globally diversified Adani Group, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has evolved beyond its origins as a port company to become an Integrated Transport Utility offering comprehensive end-to-end solutions from port to customer.
APSEZ is India’s largest port developer and operator, with six ports and terminals on the west coast (including Mundra, Tuna Tekra & Berth 13 in Kandla, Dahej, and Hazira in Gujarat, Mormugao in Goa, and Dighi in Maharashtra); five on the southern coast (Vizhinjam port in Kerala, Karaikal port in Puducherry, Kattupalli port and Ennore terminal in Chennai, and Krishnapatnam port in Andhra Pradesh); and four on the east coast (Gangavaram port in Andhra Pradesh, Gopalpur and Dhamra ports in Odisha, and Haldia in West Bengal). Collectively, these ports handle 28% of India’s total port volume, offering robust cargo handling capabilities across coastal and hinterland regions.
The company recently started operations of a transshipment port in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and manages Haifa Port in Israel along with Container Terminal 2 at Dar Es Salaam Port, Tanzania.
With a comprehensive platform that includes port infrastructure, a diversified marine fleet, integrated logistics services, multimodal logistics parks, Grade A warehouses, and industrial economic zones, APSEZ is strategically positioned to capitalize on the anticipated overhaul of global supply chains.
