Pilgrims, passengers injured as KSTRC, tourist buses collide in Erumeli

Kanamala: Several pilgrims and passengers were injured after a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus collided head on with a tourist bus carrying Ayyappa devotees near Erumeli here on Monday evening.

The KSRTC bus heading to Pampa from Erumeli collided with a tourist bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims in the opposite direction. It is learned that the KSRTC bus’s brakes failed and the driver lost control.

Local residents, onlookers, other pilgrims and police rushed to the spot and sent the injured to a nearby private hospital.
