Wayanad: Sruthi, a resident of Chooralmala who tragically lost her family in a devastating landslide and later her fiancé in a road accident, has assumed her duties as a clerk in Kerala's Revenue Department on Monday. She reported for work at the District Collectorate at 9:00 AM.

The young woman has faced unimaginable hardships over the past months, losing not only her home but also her fiancé, Jenson, in a road accident shortly after the disaster. Speaking about the development, Sruthi expressed gratitude towards the government for fulfilling its promise of providing her with employment.

"While the absence of loved ones weighs heavily on me, this job offers a much-needed lifeline to rebuild my life. I am sincerely thankful to everyone who supported me during these trying times," she remarked. Sruthi also mentioned that her health is improving and that her new home is under construction.

The Kerala government had assured a job for Sruthi following the landslide, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Revenue Minister K. Rajan leading the initiative. The formal appointment order was issued last month. On Sunday, MLA T. Siddique visited her home to convey his best wishes ahead of her first day at work.
