Karulai: A group of friends visited Meenakshi, who is differently abled, to celebrate Christmas and New Year with her. They reached Meenakshi's home in Poochapara after a challenging journey—walking for three and a half hours through dense jungle and descending a steep cliff of half-kilometre using a rope.

This gathering was organised by 'Changathikoottam,' an initiative by Samagra Shiksha Kerala, which focuses on enhancing the education and social interaction of differently abled children. Meenakshi was delighted to see the group arrive, and they brought her new clothes, toys, and a cake. The celebration began with Meenakshi cutting the cake.

Meenakshi, the eldest daughter of Poochapara Mani and Manju, is a class 3 student at Karulai Varikkal Govt. L.P. school.

The visit was coordinated by Samagra Shiksha Kerala and led by Nilambur B.P.C. M. Manoj Kumar, Vengara B.P.C. K.M. Naushad, Vengara C.R.C. Coordinator T.K. Naushad, Nilambur B.R.C. Special Educators Sabith John, S. Sajin, Vivas Roshan, Devanarayanan, and Health Department employee P. Muhammad Ali.

On their way back, Meenakshi asked the friends if they could bring a speaker for her to listen to songs. They promised to arrange it. Poochapara is situated more than thirty kilometres away from Karulai
