5 Keralites arrested for running parallel telephone exchange in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Financial Crime Investigation Division of the Crime Branch nabbed five Malayalis for running parallel telephone exchanges in Bengaluru. The arrested persons are Denish, KP Vipin, Subhash, Bejin Joseph and Samaj Shajahan, all hailing from Kasaragod district.
The gang has been operating the parallel exchange in Koramangala, Mico Layout and Rajaji Nagar areas for the past several months. They were arrested during a raid as per the information handed over to Bengaluru Police by the Central Telecom Ministry.
The exchange functioned under alias Biz Hub Solutions Pvt Limited, Orcher Technologies Pvt Limited and Time Info Pvt Limited. The gang used the SIP trunk line, the virtual version of an analogue phone line, to convert international calls to local calls. It was found that two companies run by the gang converted 24 lakh minutes of calls in 60 days and 68 lakh minutes in 40 days.
