Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray's Yuva Sena, the party's youth wing, secured a resounding victory by winning all 10 seats in the senate elections of the University of Mumbai. The elections, held on September 24 after a delay, followed a directive from the Bombay High Court.

Aditya Thackeray Celebrates Victory

Commenting on the victory, Aditya Thackeray stated, "All other organizations, including the BJP-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), were wiped out. This victory is a result of the unwavering loyalty of Shiv Sainiks. You have shown what true loyalty means, and we will continue serving the students."

Thackeray further expressed confidence in continuing this success in upcoming Assembly elections, accusing the government of delaying the university polls out of fear. "The government delayed this election for two years because they knew people have faith in Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray. I thank all the voters and our dedicated workers for this victory."

Following the Yuva Sena's clean sweep, celebrations erupted at Matoshree, the residence of Uddhav Thackeray, where Aditya Thackeray and party members gathered to mark the occasion.

Sanjay Raut Criticizes Government

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut emphasized the significance of the win, stating, "Mumbai University is a historic institution. For two years, the BJP and the Chief Minister tried to prevent elections. The government and ABVP kept postponing the polls out of fear, but the High Court ordered the elections, and Shiv Sena emerged victorious."

Raut highlighted that the results reflect the support of Maharashtra's youth and women for Shiv Sena. He added, "This victory is particularly important because the votes here cannot be bought. The election was conducted using ballot papers, ensuring no tampering."

Accusations of Election Delays

Earlier, Raut had termed the Maharashtra government "cowardly," accusing the Shinde administration of postponing the senate elections upon realizing that Shiv Sena (UBT) was likely to win. "They lacked the courage to face the elections and delayed them twice out of fear," he claimed.
