Who is Anjana Krishna, the IPS officer seen in viral call with Ajit Pawar

A video showing Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in an exchange with Indian Police Service (IPS) officer has gone viral, bringing attention to DSP Anjana Krishna, who is currently posted in Solapur district. The clip, widely shared on social media, allegedly shows Mr Pawar directing the officer to stop action against illegal soil excavation in Solapur.
What happened in Solapur?
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anjana Krishna had reached Kurdu village in Madha taluka after receiving a complaint about illegal sand excavation for road construction. When she confronted the villagers, an argument broke out on the spot. At that point, Nationalist Congress Party worker Baba Jagtap called Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and handed over his phone to the officer. On the call, Mr Pawar introduced himself as “DCM Ajit Pawar” and ordered her to stop the action. However, the officer refused to acknowledge his identity and asked him to call directly on her number.
Later, during a video call, Mr Pawar instructed her to halt the action and speak to the Tehsildar instead. The matter continued for around three hours. Villagers claimed that the excavation had permission from the Gram Panchayat, though they were unable to show any official documents. With no papers in hand, Ms Krishna went ahead with the action.
The Superintendent of Police of Solapur district is Atul Kulkarni. No official statement has been issued so far from either side.
