WhatsApp chats reveal Delhi ashram baba’s disturbing acts, police issue lookout notice

Delhi Police have issued a lookout notice to arrest Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati, also known as Parth Sarathi. He is accused of molesting over 17 female students at the Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management in Vasant Kunj, where he held the position of director.

Several WhatsApp chats have gone viral on social media where the accused invited victims to his room and offering to sponsor foreign trips. Some messages reportedly contain threats, with the accused warning victims about cutting their marks if they revealed the abuse.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South-West Delhi, Aishwarya Singh, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with statements from victims still being recorded. The case is registered under sections related to sexual harassment and forgery. The complaint was filed in August.

Abuse and pressure allegations by victims

During the inquiry, statements from 32 female students were recorded. Seventeen of them alleged the Swami used abusive language, sent obscene messages, and made unwanted physical advances. Victims also claimed that some female faculty members and administrators pressured them to comply with the accused’s demands.

Hostel wardens under police scrutiny

Three wardens of the institute’s women’s hostel have been questioned by police. They are accused of facilitating the accused by sending students to him and helping erase evidence by making victims delete WhatsApp messages. Reports also reveal, CCTV footage on the campus was also found to be tampered with, complicating the investigation. Police are making all possible efforts to apprehend the accused at the earliest and continue to investigate the case.
