We asked for ‘Make in India’, you gave us ‘Leak in India’: CJP protest begins at Jantar Mantar

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) launched its much-publicised protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Saturday, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak and irregularities linked to the CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
With Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel deployed across key locations in the national capital, protesters gathered at the designated site and raised slogans against the minister.
Among the chants heard at the venue were “Dharmendra Pradhan Istifa Do” and the now-viral slogan, “We asked for ‘Make in India’, you gave us ‘Leak in India’.”
The demonstration is being led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who travelled from Boston in the United States to participate in the protest.
Upon arriving in New Delhi, Dipke was seen carrying a copy of Dr BR Ambedkar’s autobiography.
Earlier this week, he had announced his decision to return to India and spearhead a peaceful movement seeking accountability over examination-related controversies.
Taking to X after reaching the capital, Dipke said he was “looking forward to meet all at Jantar Mantar” and urged supporters to maintain a peaceful approach. “We have to lead this movement with love and peace,” he wrote.
Ahead of the protest, the satirical political outfit had announced its plans on social media, stating that the demonstration would be carried out “with the full backing of the Constitution of India.”
In a subsequent update, the party confirmed that Delhi Police had granted permission for the gathering. “Cockroaches aa rahe hain, Dharmendra Pradhan jaa rahe hain,” the party said in a post.
According to an official order issued by the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District, authorities permitted the protest from 10 am to 5 pm as a one-time exemption in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines and related civil appeals.
The protest comes amid continuing concerns over alleged examination irregularities. NEET-UG 2026 has been rescheduled for June 21 following disruptions linked to paper leaks and administrative lapses.
At the same time, CBSE has been facing scrutiny over alleged flaws in its Class XII result process, particularly concerning the On-Screen Marking portal and related tender procedures.
Education reformer and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had earlier stated that he would join the agitation if Dharmendra Pradhan did not step down by June 5.
Student groups have also staged protests in Delhi and other parts of the country in recent weeks, demanding accountability over recurring examination controversies.
Several protesters were earlier detained outside the Ministry of Education as pressure mounted on authorities over the issue.
