Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections: TVK leader Vijay gets conditional approval for Tiruchi East outreach

Chennai: Actor-politician Vijay has intensified his Tamil Nadu election campaign, with a scheduled outreach programme in Tiruchi East on Sunday after securing conditional approval from authorities.
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president, who is contesting from both Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchi East, continues his high-voltage campaign across key constituencies.
A day after a door-to-door campaign in Perambur, Vijay is set to arrive in Tiruchirappalli by private aircraft on Sunday afternoon. His Tiruchi East campaign is scheduled between 3 pm and 7 pm, covering major localities across the constituency.
According to party sources, the roadshow will begin near the airport on Wireless Road and proceed through Thendral Nagar, KK Nagar Bus Stand, Kajamalai Road, EVR College Road, Tamil Nadu Hotel junction, Kozhipannai Road and Kottapattu.
Vijay is expected to address the public from an open vehicle, seeking support for TVK candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections before returning to the airport by evening.

Authorities granted permission for the Tiruchi campaign after approvals were obtained from the Election Commission and police, but imposed strict conditions under the Model Code of Conduct.
Officials said political flags must not obstruct traffic, while unauthorised posters, banners and party flags are prohibited at campaign sites. The use of hazardous or explosive materials has also been banned.
Campaign organisers have been directed to adhere strictly to approved timings and designated locations. In total, 27 conditions — including guidelines from police and other departments — have been mandated to ensure public order and compliance with election norms.
With campaigning entering a crucial phase ahead of polling, Vijay’s dual-constituency strategy is under close watch as TVK aims to strengthen its foothold in Tamil Nadu politics.
