Man gives CPR to snake after it faints in chemical water in Gujarat

A 5-foot-long Dhaman snake was revived using artificial respiration after it was found unconscious in chemical-contaminated water near an ETP plant in Vapi GIDC, Gujarat’s Valsad district.

Snake catcher Sanjay Pawar was called to the spot after the reptile was found struggling in the water. When he arrived, the non-venomous snake was lying unconscious after coming into contact with the chemical-mixed water.

Pawar then attempted to restore its breathing by placing his mouth near the snake’s mouth and giving it artificial respiration, an unusual rescue effort captured in a video that has since gone viral on social media.

The rescue also involved a risk to Pawar himself, as he came into contact with the chemical-rich water while trying to save the reptile. Pawar, who has been involved in snake rescue operations in Vapi, Valsad and surrounding areas for several years, was subsequently kept under medical observation for 24 hours.

The snake survived the incident and was released into a forest area after it made a full recovery.
