TMC leader Mahua Moitra ties knot with BJD leader Pinaki Misra in private Berlin wedding

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has married senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and former parliamentarian Pinaki Misra in a low-key ceremony held in Berlin, Germany. Moitra, who represents Krishnanagar in West Bengal, tied the knot with Misra, the veteran Lok Sabha MP from Puri, Odisha.

According to India Today, which accessed a wedding photograph, Moitra was seen wearing traditional attire and ornate gold jewellery—suggesting a private yet traditional ceremony on May 3.
 

A former investment banker, Moitra entered active politics with Mamata Banerjee’s TMC in 2010. She was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019 and retained her seat in the 2024 general elections. Widely recognised for her fiery oratory, she rose to national prominence with a speech in Parliament outlining the “seven signs of fascism”.

Pinaki Misra, born in 1959 in Puri, began his political career with the Congress and won his first Lok Sabha election in 1996. He later joined the BJD and has been elected to Parliament multiple times since 2009. A senior advocate, Misra holds degrees in History and Law from St Stephen’s College and the University of Delhi, respectively.
