Tesla to open Delhi showroom on August 11

New Delhi: Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company Tesla is set to open its second showroom in India this week. The new Tesla Experience Centre will be launched in Delhi on August 11, just weeks after the company opened its first Indian showroom in Mumbai.
The upcoming showroom will be located at Worldmark 3, an upscale commercial complex in Aerocity, New Delhi. It is expected to cater to customers across the National Capital Region (NCR) – a key market for India's growing electric mobility sector.
Tesla made the announcement through its official handle on X (formerly Twitter), posting: “Arriving in Delhi – stay tuned.”
The post included a graphic teaser hinting at the brand’s arrival in the capital.
Follows first showroom launch in Mumbai
Tesla opened its first Indian showroom at Maker Maxity Mall in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, in July. That launch was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who welcomed Tesla’s entry and encouraged the company to consider setting up research and manufacturing units in the state.
Alongside the showroom, Tesla launched its Model Y electric SUV in India. The vehicle is priced starting from nearly Rs 60 lakh, with deliveries expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
The Tesla Model Y is available in two variants:
- Standard Rear-Wheel Drive: 60 kWh battery with a WLTP-certified range of 500 km.
- Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive: 75 kWh battery offering up to 622 km on a single charge.
Initial deliveries will be prioritised for customers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram. Tesla will deliver the vehicles directly to buyers’ homes using flat-bed trucks. The company has also updated its website, allowing customers across all Indian states and union territories to register their vehicles, expanding access beyond the initial cities.
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system is listed as an optional add-on priced at ₹6 lakh. However, the advanced feature will be introduced in India at a later stage.
