Pune: Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Supriya Sule escaped injury on Saturday after a reckless driver collided with her vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

The Baramati Member of Parliament was commuting from Pune to Mumbai when the accident occurred. Taking to social media shortly after the impact, Sule credited her safety to the use of a seatbelt and urged fellow travellers to prioritise road precautions.

"While travelling from Pune to Mumbai today, I had an awful experience on the highway when vehicle GJ13CF5257 rammed into my car from the side due to reckless driving. Thankfully, everyone is safe. Incidents like these are a serious reminder that overspeeding and negligence on our roads can put countless lives at risk. I urge everyone to wear seat belts, remain alert, and drive responsibly so that our highways are safer for all," she wrote.

Sule admitted to experiencing a brief moment of alarm when the other vehicle struck hers from the side, but reassured supporters that she and her companions remained unharmed. To assist authorities in the aftermath, the MP also disclosed the registration details of the vehicle involved in the collision.
