SC seeks updates from Punjab on Dallewal’s health as hunger strike continues

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has instructed the Punjab government to compile the medical reports of farmers' leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is currently on his 50th day of a fast-unto-death, and consult with a team of doctors from AIIMS. The Court’s directive on Wednesday follows concerns about his health as he continues his protest.

Punjab informed the Court that a committee, appointed by the Supreme Court and led by former Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Nawab Singh, had already met with Dallewal. The state expressed optimism, stating that efforts are underway to resolve the ongoing standoff and urged the Court that necessary steps are being taken to address the situation.
