Spider-Man spotted clearing flooded roads in Bhiwandi; monsoon rescue act goes viral | WATCH

Bhiwandi: While most people waited for floodwaters to recede, one resident of Bhiwandi chose an unusual way to help his community. Inspired by the famous Marvel superhero Spider-Man, a young man put on the iconic costume and stepped onto waterlogged roads to help ease traffic and clear stagnant rainwater during Maharashtra's ongoing monsoon.
The gesture quickly caught the attention of passers-by as heavy rains continued to disrupt daily life across several parts of the city.
Flooded roads lead to traffic chaos
Relentless monsoon showers left many areas of Bhiwandi submerged, slowing traffic and causing long delays for commuters.
Claiming that official help had not arrived in time, the young man, identified as Shadab, decided to take matters into his own hands instead of waiting for the situation to improve.
Speaking to media, Shadab said he felt compelled to act after noticing that the waterlogged area had not been attended to by the authorities.
"I noticed that the Municipal authorities hadn't come here to address the issue of accumulated water," he said.
Inspired by Spider-Man to help people
Shadab explained that his decision to wear the Spider-Man costume was not just for attention but was inspired by the superhero's willingness to help others.
He said the character's actions in the films encouraged him to do something meaningful for people struggling with the effects of the rain.
"Inspired by how Spider-Man helps people and saves lives in the movies, I decided to do the same in real life, helping others and clearing away the stagnant water," he told.
His unusual appearance, combined with his efforts to assist motorists and clear waterlogged stretches, drew the attention of local residents and commuters navigating the flooded roads.
Maharashtra remains on high alert
The incident comes as Maharashtra continues to face severe weather conditions caused by heavy monsoon rainfall.
On Monday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said district administrations across the state had been placed on high alert as intense rain continued to affect several regions.
The Chief Minister made the announcement after chairing a review meeting at the Disaster Control Room in Mantralaya to assess the situation arising from heavy rainfall and landslides reported in different parts of the state.
Transport services largely operational
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Fadnavis said that the Mumbai Metro network and bus services were functioning normally despite the adverse weather.
He added that only a few disruptions had been reported on the city's suburban railway network.
Maharashtra remains on high alert as heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds has triggered flooding and landslides in several locations across the state, affecting transport and daily life.
