SpiceJet launches direct flights to Phuket from Delhi and Mumbai

SpiceJet is all set to launch daily non-stop flights to Phuket, one of Thailand’s most popular holiday destinations, from Delhi and Mumbai.
The new services will start in time for the winter travel season. Flights from Delhi to Phuket will begin on October 31, 2025, while the Mumbai–Phuket service will take off from November 6, 2025, the airline said in a filing to the stock exchange.
With this expansion, SpiceJet will now fly to two major destinations in Thailand, Bangkok and Phuket.
Passengers can already book tickets for these flights through SpiceJet’s official website or mobile app. According to the airline’s booking platform:
- Delhi–Phuket fares start from around ₹14,000 (one way) in November.
- Mumbai–Phuket fares begin at approximately ₹9,000 (one way).
A direct flight from either Delhi or Mumbai to Phuket takes about four to five hours, making it a convenient short-haul international option for Indian travellers.
Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, said the launch highlights the airline’s commitment to strengthening its international network. “We are excited to add Phuket, one of the world’s most sought-after holiday destinations, to our growing international network. With non-stop flights from Delhi and Mumbai, SpiceJet is making it easier than ever for Indian travellers to enjoy Thailand’s pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality,” Maharshi said.
Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and one of Asia’s most visited tourist destinations. Known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and lively nightlife, it also offers water sports such as snorkelling, scuba diving, and surfing, island-hopping tours to nearby Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay and cultural attractions like Old Phuket Town with its colourful Sino-Portuguese architecture.
Plus, the iconic Big Buddha statue, a landmark that overlooks the island.
For Indian travellers, Thailand continues to be one of the top international leisure destinations thanks to its visa-on-arrival policy, affordable travel options, and short flight times.
The move is also seen as part of SpiceJet’s strategy to capture the fast-growing outbound leisure market from India. Thailand has consistently ranked among the top three destinations for Indian tourists, and with improving air connectivity, demand is expected to rise further in the upcoming holiday season.
SpiceJet’s entry on the Delhi–Phuket and Mumbai–Phuket routes will increase competition with other carriers such as IndiGo and Thai Airways, which already operate flights to Thailand.
