PM Modi releases 21st PM-Kisan instalment of ₹18,000 cr to nine crore farmers

Coimbatore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and released the 21st instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, transferring over Rs 18,000 crore directly to the bank accounts of nine crore farmers. The three-day summit, held from November 19-21 and organised by the Tamil Nadu Natural Farming Stakeholders Forum, aims to promote sustainable, eco-friendly, and chemical-free farming practices, accelerating the shift to natural and regenerative agriculture as a climate-smart and economically sustainable model for India’s agricultural future.
The event showcased organic produce, innovations in natural farming, and market linkages for farmer-producer organisations and rural entrepreneurs, with participation from over 50,000 farmers and stakeholders from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. PM Modi interacted with local farmers, honoured exemplary natural farming practitioners, and was accompanied by Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi. The summit also highlighted indigenous technologies, organic inputs, agro-processing, and eco-friendly packaging as part of India's push toward sustainable agriculture.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi visited Andhra Pradesh to participate in the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Satya Sai Baba, stressing the importance of devotion combined with service, knowledge with compassion, and action with societal contribution during his address.
