South Central Railway adds 3 more special trains: Check routes, timings and travel dates

Hyderabad: In a major relief for passengers travelling during the festive season, South Central Railway (SCR) has announced three additional special trains between Hyderabad and Anakapalle to manage the heavy rush ahead of the Sankranti festival.
According to SCR officials, the special services will operate between Charlapalli station in Hyderabad and Anakapalle in Andhra Pradesh. Train No. 07479 Anakapalle–Charlapalli will depart Anakapalle at 10.30 pm on January 18 and reach Charlapalli at 11.30 am the following day.
Another service, 07477 Charlapalli–Anakapalle, will leave Charlapalli at 12.40 am on January 19 and arrive at Anakapalle at 9.00 pm the same day. The third train, 07478 Anakapalle–Charlapalli, is scheduled to depart Anakapalle at 10.30 pm on January 19 and reach Charlapalli by 11.30 am on January 20.
Earlier, SCR had already announced four special trains between Hyderabad and Sirpur Kagazhnagar, along with 10 additional services on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada route.

With the latest announcement, the railway zone has so far notified more than 170 special trains across key routes such as Vijayawada, Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Visakhapatnam and Narsapur. An additional 130 special trains are also planned to operate through Andhra Pradesh to clear the festive passenger rush.
Meanwhile, extensive crowd-management measures have been put in place, especially at Secunderabad railway station, which is witnessing a sharp surge in footfall. The expected average daily passenger count during Sankranti is around 2.20 lakh at Secunderabad, 50,000 at Lingampalli and 35,000 at Charlapalli.
To ensure smooth operations, additional Ticket Checking Staff (TTEs) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed at all entry and exit points. A 24x7 CCTV surveillance control room and war room are operational at the divisional headquarters.
In view of ongoing redevelopment works, parking at Secunderabad station remains temporarily suspended, while limited pick-up and drop-off facilities are available at Platform No. 1.
