1. Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh, Sirmaur district has announced the closure of educational institutions for July 22.

2. Nainital, Uttarakhand

The Nainital district administration has ordered all schools and Anganwadi centres to remain closed on July 22 as a precaution against heavy rain and possible landslides.

3. Jammu and Kashmir

Schools across the Kashmir Division and the winter zones of Jammu Division will remain closed on Wednesday, July 22.

The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across several regions of the country.

North India

Heavy rain is expected over:

• Jammu and Kashmir
• Himachal Pradesh
• Uttarakhand
• Punjab
• Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi
• West & East Uttar Pradesh

The weather agency has also warned of flash floods and landslides, particularly in vulnerable hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Central India

Heavy rainfall is likely over:

• East & West Madhya Pradesh
• Vidarbha
• Chhattisgarh

East and Northeast India

Rainfall is expected across:

• Bihar
• Odisha
• Assam and Meghalaya
• Nagaland
• Manipur
• Mizoram
• Tripura

West India

Heavy rain has been forecast for:

• Gujarat
• Konkan and Goa
• Maharashtra

The IMD has also warned of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in Madhya Maharashtra.

South India

Heavy rainfall is likely over:

• Kerala
• Karnataka
• Telangana
