‘I was told I am dirty...’: Rohini Acharya levels fresh allegations against family a day after quitting politics

A day after announcing her decision to “quit politics” and “disown” her family, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya on Saturday levelled fresh allegations against her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his close aide, RJD MP Sanjay Yadav.
Speaking to reporters, Rohini alleged that she had been “thrown out of the family” by Tejashwi and those close to him after she questioned the leadership over the party’s poor performance in the Bihar Assembly election.
"Yesterday, a daughter, a sister, a married woman, a mother was humiliated, filthy abuses were hurled at her, a slipper was raised to hit her. I did not compromise on my self-respect, I did not surrender the truth, and solely because of this, I had to endure this insult. Yesterday, a daughter, out of compulsion, left behind her crying parents and sisters and came away; they tore me away from my maternal home. They left me orphaned. May none of you ever walk my path, may no family ever have a daughter-sister like Rohini."
In a social media post, Rohini levelled fresh allegations, “Yesterday, I was cursed at and told that I am dirty, and that I gave my father my ‘dirty kidney’—that I got it transplanted into him, took crores of rupees, bought a ticket, and then got that dirty kidney put in… To all the daughters and sisters who are married, I want to say: when there is a son or a brother in your maternal home, never, ever save your god-like father; instead, tell your brother, the son of that house, to give his own kidney, or get one transplanted from one of his Haryanvi friends.”
Her post continued, “All sisters and daughters should look after their in-laws’ home and family. Without caring for their parents, they should look after their children, their work, their in-laws, think only about themselves. I committed a big crime: I did not look after my family, my three children, while donating my kidney. I did not take permission from my husband or my in-laws. To save my god, my father, I did what is today being labelled as dirty. None of you should ever make a mistake like me; no one should be another daughter like Rohini.”
“I have no family. You can go and ask Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They are the ones who threw me out of the family,” she said in her first reaction after her dramatic announcement earlier on Saturday.
Rohini claimed that when she confronted Sanjay Yadav about the party’s defeat, she was “disgraced, abused, and even hit.” She alleged that the leadership was unwilling to take responsibility for the setback in the polls.
Her remarks come amid turmoil within the RJD after the party performed poorly in the Bihar Assembly polls—winning just 25 seats despite contesting more than 140 in the 243-member House.
Earlier on Saturday, Rohini had publicly announced her decision to quit politics, disown her family, and take the blame for the party’s electoral failure.
