Robert Vadra marches to ED office after summons, aides chant 'Modi always pulls up ED when afraid'

New Delhi: Businessman Robert Vadra, brother-in-law of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, is currently marching from his residence to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office after being summoned in connection with a money laundering probe related to a land deal in Shikohpur, Gurugram.

The ED had summoned Vadra to appear on Tuesday after he failed to respond to an earlier notice on April 8. The probe is being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), and his statement is expected to be recorded once he reaches the agency’s office.

As he marched, surrounded by supporters chanting slogans like “Whenever Modi is afraid, he pulls up ED to the front,” Vadra alleged political targeting. 

“Whenever I will speak up for people and make them heard, they will try to suppress me. I have always given all answers and continue to do so,” he told reporters.

"I don't know what is the fault. It is a political vendetta, only old accusations, rubbish, this is the misuse of the agencies," he added.

Vadra’s wife, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, is a Congress MP from Wayanad, and the case adds to ongoing political tensions.
