Chennai: The India Meteorological Department has forecast light rain in southern Tamil Nadu over the next three days, with coastal districts in South TN likely to receive scattered showers, according to the latest update from the Regional Meteorological Centre.

The Tamil Nadu weather forecast indicates continued pre-summer rainfall activity, particularly in one or two locations along the southern coastal belt, offering a brief respite from rising heat.

Rainfall is likely in the coastal and Western Ghats regions

As per the IMD bulletin, moderate rainfall is expected along the Western Ghats districts, which could help ease dry conditions and provide temporary relief from increasing temperatures. However, the broader trend points towards gradually intensifying summer conditions across Tamil Nadu.

Temperature rise expected across Tamil Nadu

The weather department has warned of a rise in maximum temperatures by up to 3°C in several parts of the state over the coming days. This signals the onset of hotter summer weather in Tamil Nadu, even as isolated rain activity continues.
