New Delhi: Amid an escalating internal rift within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), MP Raghav Chadha has strongly responded to criticism from his own party, rejecting claims that he failed to raise Punjab-related issues in Parliament.

Taking to social media platform X, Chadha asserted that Punjab is not merely a political issue for him but “my home, my duty, my soil, my soul”. He outlined several matters he has raised as a Member of Parliament, including advocacy for the Nankana Sahib corridor, legal guarantees for farmers’ Minimum Support Price (MSP), concerns over depleting groundwater in Punjab, and a recommendation for Bharat Ratna recognition for Bhagat Singh.

In a pointed message to party colleagues, Chadha said they had been “forced” to issue statements against him, adding, “This is just a small trailer… the full picture is yet to come.”

The controversy follows his recent removal as the AAP’s Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha. In the aftermath, Chadha criticised the party leadership, alleging attempts to silence his voice.

Several AAP leaders have since hit back, reportedly accusing him of being “compromised” and acting out of fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Responding to these allegations, Chadha dismissed them as part of a “coordinated attack”. He also denied claims that he had refused to walk out of Parliament or declined to sign an impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner.

“Since yesterday, a scripted campaign has been going on against me — same language, same words, same allegations. This is no coincidence, but a coordinated attack,” he said, adding that he chose to respond as repeated claims could mislead the public.
