3 minutes 52 seconds: Noida police create 6km green corridor, ambulance rushes newborn twins to hospital

Noida: The Noida Traffic Police successfully created a six-kilometre-long green corridor from the DND flyover to the Child PGI hospital in Sector 30 on Thursday, allowing an ambulance carrying two critically ill newborn twins to cover the distance in just three minutes and 52 seconds, officials confirmed.
The premature twins, a boy and a girl born at just 26 weeks and weighing approximately 700 grams each, have been fighting severe respiratory and digestive complications for the past 47 days, according to doctors at Child PGI.
Initially treated at a private hospital in Najafgarh, Delhi, the twins were referred to the advanced neonatal care unit at Child PGI in Noida for specialised treatment.
Dr Ruchi Rai, head of the neonatal intensive care unit at Child PGI, said, “The twins came from Sapling Hospital in Delhi. Both babies are extremely sick and are currently on ventilators with high settings.”
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Lakhan Singh Yadav, told PTI that about 30 traffic police personnel were deployed to clear the route for the ambulance.
“It was a six-kilometre corridor from DND to Child PGI in Noida. The ambulance covered the stretch in three minutes and 52 seconds,” he said.
