‘More dangerous than ISI agent’: BJP slams Prakash Raj over ‘sindoor’ jibe at PM Modi | WATCH

New Delhi: Acclaimed actor Prakash Raj has found himself at the center of a political storm after posting controversial remarks on social media linking Operation Sindoor and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The actor’s comments, perceived as sarcastic and personal, have drawn sharp criticism from BJP leaders, particularly NV Subhash.

The controversy erupted after Raj shared a post on X highlighting a headline that read, “Modi government to deliver sindoor to every household.” Responding to the report, the actor wrote, “One Nation, One Husband,” in a tone widely interpreted as mocking both the Prime Minister and the initiative. In a follow-up post, he questioned, “But why will women take #Sindoor from this old man?”, a comment many saw as a personal dig at Modi’s age and marital status.

The remarks triggered an immediate backlash from BJP leader NV Subhash, who condemned them as “disrespectful” to Indian women and “deeply shameful.”

“This kind of statement doesn't go very well with the versatile actor, or his stature,” Subhash said. “Always talking about Modi, belittling the Indian Army, democratic values of society, I expect him to withdraw his words, because this is a direct attack on women.”

Subhash did not hold back in his rebuke, likening Prakash Raj’s rhetoric to that of an enemy agent, “It is more shameful that a good, character actor, when he preaches so many things on celluloid, but when he comes to real life, he has become a villain. I think he is more dangerous than an ISI agent or a traitor who always wants to make holes in democratic values.”

Subhash urged the actor to reflect on his words, saying, “he has his mother, sister, he should respect them and not make such statements against women. He should immediately withdraw his words.”

Operation Sindoor is a precision military strike carried out by the Indian armed forces in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. The operation was launched in the early hours of May 7, targeting nine terror infrastructures across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including key locations in Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad.
