Prayagraj: Ahead of the Maha Kumbh 2025, the authorities have implemented enhanced safety measures, including advanced firefighting equipment and 75 quick-response vehicles. These initiatives are aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the millions of devotees expected to attend the event.

The authorities are deploying a fleet of firefighting bikes and off-road vehicles to ensure swift responses to emergencies.

Chief Fire Officer Pramod Sharma highlighted the comprehensive preparations being made for the event. He said, “Our employees of fire emergency services are well-trained for rescue, firefighting, and other disasters. The fire services department is fire emergency services now, we now have to act against all kinds of disasters. We are calling all the trained staff for smooth conduct of the fair.”

He further added, “The number of fire stations has been increased from 43 to 50. The temporary posts have been increased from 15 to 20. We are trying to decrease response time. We are arranging around 7,000 fire hydrants for speedy action. The number of firefighting bikes has been increased to 80. Many new equipment are also coming.” Sharma emphasised that these measures aim to reduce response times and prevent potential incidents.

The Maha Kumbh is expected to attract over 400 million devotees from India and around the world. The event will begin on January 13, 2025, on the occasion of Paush Poornima and will conclude on February 26, on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
