Praful Patel likely to visit Lakshadweep

Kochi: Administrator Praful Patel may visit Lakshadweep again. It is hinted that he is likely to visit the island on July 27. The Lakshadweep administration has not received any official details regarding his visit. He may visit the Bangaram Atoll, a famous tourist destination and most probably will be accompanied by his wife.

Save Lakshadweep Forum is seeking to find a possibility of a discussion with the administrator. As a part of this, the volunteers of Save Lakshadweep Forum had a meeting with A Anbarasu, Advisor of the administrator on the island.

It is alleged that the Home Ministry has not recognised the recent reforms introduced in Lakshadweep. 

The Lakshadweep administration has also moved back from acquiring land of the people for developmental activities.

At the meeting, Anbarasu assured Save Lakshadweep Forum that the link of the island with Beypore and Cochin ports will not be disconnected. He also informed that the cargo movement to Mangalore port is under consideration. Anbarasu also offered help to organise a meeting of the forum with the administrator when he arrives the island.
