New Delhi: Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a leader of the Khalistan separatist movement, has issued threats against Air India flights. He warned passengers not to travel by Air India between November 1 and 19. This threat comes as the 40th anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots approaches.

The new threat arises amid various airlines in India facing bomb threats, all of which have so far been proven to be false. This situation arose against the backdrop of strained India-Canada relations following the murder of Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Pannun has previously made similar threats, including a warning about a potential attack near Parliament before December 13, which led security agencies to increase measures. He also threatened to change the name of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi and suggested it should be closed on November 19. Previously, he has threatened attacks in India similar to those carried out by Hamas, including targeting the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a dual citizen of Canada and the US, is the founder of the organisation Sikhs for Justice.
