Jazeera Airways has expanded its India operations during the ongoing regional situation, with a strong focus on improving connectivity to key South Indian cities.

The airline has added new routes to Thiruvananthapuram, along with Ahmedabad, while continuing services to major South Indian hubs such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi. With this expansion, Jazeera Airways now connects eight Indian cities, offering more travel options for passengers, especially those from southern states.

For many travellers from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana, this move comes as a major relief at a time when flight options remain limited. A large number of Indian expatriates in Kuwait belong to South India, and the expanded network helps them stay connected with their families back home.

According to CEO Barathan Pasupathi, the airline’s focus goes beyond adding routes; it is about helping families reunite and supporting the Indian community during a challenging time. Currently, Jazeera Airways remains the only airline operating flights between Kuwait and India under the prevailing conditions, making its services especially important for passengers who urgently need to travel.

Since resuming operations on March 20, the airline has already helped more than 1,300 passengers reach India, many of whom were waiting for available travel options. To ensure a seamless journey, passengers follow a structured travel process. This includes check-in at designated facilities in Kuwait, followed by transfers to Qaisumah Airport in Saudi Arabia, from where flights depart to India.

While the process may involve an additional step, it ensures that passengers can still travel safely and reliably despite restrictions. The expansion comes at a time of high travel demand, especially with the upcoming Eid season, when many expatriates prefer to visit their families.

By increasing capacity and adding routes, particularly to South India, Jazeera Airways is helping ease travel pressure and provide much-needed connectivity.

Overall, the airline’s expanded operations are playing a crucial role in maintaining the air link between India and Kuwait. For South Indian passengers in particular, it will lead to better access to home cities, more travel flexibility and continued connectivity during the difficult period.

At a time when global aviation is facing disruptions, such efforts are helping keep people connected where it matters most, at home.
