J&K Election Result: 'Power is never permanent... Jammu and Kashmir is not an ordinary region'

Even as votes cast in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections 2024 were being counted, Member of Parliament Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, has said that whoever forms the government in Jammu and Kashmir should serve as a bridge between the people and New Delhi.

The Awami Ittehad Party President said, "Power is never permanent... Jammu and Kashmir is not an ordinary region. On one side, we have Pakistan, and on the other, China. The entire world is watching us. The people of Kashmir should be allowed to live in peace and be granted their rights... External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar should not visit Islamabad merely as a formality for the Shanghai conference. He should work behind the scenes to bring meaningful peace to Kashmir... I urge that whatever government is formed in Jammu and Kashmir, it should serve as a bridge between the people and New Delhi, so our hardships can finally come to an end."
