Passenger dies mid-air: IndiGo flight makes emergency landing in Maharashtra

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra: An IndiGo Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s Chikalthana Airport after an 89-year-old passenger passed away mid-flight.
The flight, en route from Mumbai to Varanasi, was diverted after the elderly passenger, identified as Sushila Devi from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, began feeling unwell while in the air. The crew declared a medical emergency, prompting the emergency landing around 10 PM.
Upon landing, a medical team immediately attended to the woman, but unfortunately, she had already passed away. The necessary formalities were carried out by the MIDC CIDCO police station, and the body was sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Following the incident, the flight continued its journey to Varanasi.
