IndiGo flight 6E 225 hits guidance pole while parking at Srinagar Airport: WATCH

Srinagar: An IndiGo aircraft operating a Navi Mumbai-Srinagar flight came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being positioned at a parking bay at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning.

All passengers and crew members on board were reported safe, with no injuries.

The incident involved IndiGo flight 6E 225, operated by aircraft VT-NOG, as it was being manoeuvred into Bay No. 06 at around 9:02 am, according to airport authorities.

The aircraft came into contact with the pole during the parking process after arriving from Navi Mumbai.

Following the incident, passengers and crew were safely deboarded using manual aircraft stairs.

Airport authorities said the circumstances surrounding the incident would be examined by the appropriate authorities in accordance with prescribed procedures.

The exact cause will be determined after the inquiry is completed, and officials have cautioned against drawing any conclusion at this stage.

Flight operations at Srinagar Airport continued normally, with arrivals and departures operating as scheduled despite the incident.

The VDGS is an airport guidance system used to assist pilots in accurately positioning an aircraft at its designated parking stand.

The incident comes as the latest operational disruption involving an IndiGo aircraft, although authorities have not linked it to any specific technical or operational cause pending the inquiry.
