IndiGo has become the first Indian airline to start direct flights connecting India and Cambodia. The airline will launch services between Kolkata and Siem Reap, the gateway to the world-famous Angkor Wat temple complex, from November 13, 2025.

The flights will operate thrice weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using Airbus A320neo aircraft. IndiGo said bookings are now open on its website, mobile app, and through authorised travel partners.

Speaking about the launch, Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, said: “We are delighted to be the first Indian carrier to connect India and Cambodia directly. This new service not only strengthens international connectivity from Kolkata but also allows travellers from across India to reach Cambodia conveniently through our extensive domestic network. With rising travel demand, favourable visa policies, and growing trade, this route will boost tourism, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation between the two countries.”

The new service makes Siem Reap the seventh international destination served from Kolkata by IndiGo. The flight schedule is as follows -

The flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

  • Kolkata – Siem Reap (6E 1655): Departs at 01:50 hrs, arrives at 06:20 hrs
  • Siem Reap – Kolkata (6E 1656): Departs at 07:20 hrs, arrives at 08:55 hrs

This convenient schedule gives travellers flexible options for short or extended trips.

Siem Reap is home to the world-famous Angkor Wat temple complex and is one of Southeast Asia’s most popular tourist destinations. With direct flights, Indian tourists can now travel to Cambodia without layovers, saving time and making the journey easier.

The launch is expected to increase Indian tourist arrivals in Cambodia, which have already grown by 20% over the past year. At the same time, easier access will encourage Cambodian visitors and businesses to engage more with India, strengthening bilateral trade and cultural ties.

Convenient visa options such as e-Visa and Visa on Arrival for Indian travellers further support this expected growth in tourism.

IndiGo currently operates a fleet of over 410 aircraft, flying 2,200 daily flights to 127 destinations worldwide, including more than 90 cities in India. The airline has the world’s largest order book for future aircraft deliveries, highlighting its ambitious expansion plans.

With Kolkata’s strategic location as an international hub, the new Siem Reap flights fit naturally into IndiGo’s growing Southeast Asia network.
