Ankara: A Virgin Atlantic flight travelling from London to Mumbai made an emergency landing in Turkey, leaving over 200 Indian passengers stranded. The travellers have been stuck at Diyarbakir Airport for more than 16 hours.

The emergency landing was prompted by a passenger experiencing a panic attack. Reports also indicate that the aircraft encountered a technical issue during landing. However, Diyarbakir Airport lacks the necessary facilities to resolve the technical problem, resulting in prolonged delays for passengers.

As of now, Virgin Atlantic has not announced any alternative arrangements to resume the journey. Reports suggest that passengers are unable to communicate effectively within the terminal. Among those stranded are women, children and elderly passengers.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Civil Aviation Ministry has appointed a nodal officer to manage the situation.
