New Delhi: Indian Railways is preparing to revolutionise the train travel experience for ordinary passengers with the new IRCTC Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)  super app. This initiative aims to bring together a host of railway services under one platform for easy access. The plan is to launch the app by December.

IRCTC has developed this super app in collaboration with the Centre for Railway Information Systems. The app is an upgraded version of the existing IRCTC app and website.

Services that were previously split across multiple apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, and Rail Madad will now be available within a single app. Ticket booking, platform ticket booking, train tracking, catering services and several other features will be accessible through the IRCTC super app. Additionally, it will include facilities for booking services like freight transport.

Although the new app was announced in September, the exact release date is not yet confirmed. However, it is expected to launch in December itself.
