Indian Naval Academy set to host Passing Out Parade on May 31

Kannur: The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, is all set to host the Passing Out Parade (POP) for the Spring Term 2025 on May 31. The parade marks the culmination of months of rigorous training, discipline, and transformation of cadets into Commissioned Officers of the Indian Navy and friendly foreign navies.
This ceremonial occasion is one of the most prestigious traditions of the Indian Navy, signifying the formal commissioning of cadets into active naval service. Cadets who have successfully completed their training will march on the parade ground, symbolising their readiness to shoulder the responsibilities of safeguarding the nation and upholding maritime security.
The POP will witness the participation of midshipmen and cadets, including international trainees from countries such as Bangladesh, Seychelles, Sri Lanka and Tanzania—underscoring India’s enduring maritime cooperation and defence partnerships with friendly nations.
The event will be graced by esteemed dignitaries, senior naval officers, proud parents, instructors and mentors, all of whom have played a pivotal role in shaping these young cadets into future leaders of the Navy. Adding grandeur to the ceremony will be traditional highlights such as the prestigious review of the parade, the presentation of medals and trophies to outstanding performers and the symbolic moment of ‘Shipping of Stripes,’ marking the commissioning of cadets as officers.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed live on the official Facebook and YouTube channels of the Indian Navy, allowing audiences across the globe to witness this proud and patriotic occasion. Regular updates and highlights of associated events will also be shared on the Indian Naval Academy’s X handle (formerly Twitter).
