Bhubaneswar: Sneha, an Indian native now living in Spain, has returned to India to search for her mother, who abandoned her and her brother two decades ago. In 2005, when Sneha was just one year old and her brother Somu was only a few months old, their mother left them in a rented house in Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, before leaving with two other children. Their father, Santosh, had abandoned the family earlier. The landlord, who found the children alone, took them to an orphanage in Bhubaneswar.

In 2010, Sneha and Somu were adopted by Spanish couple Gema Vidal and Juan Josh. Now, as an adult, Sneha has come back to India with the hope of finding her biological mother. “The purpose of my trip from Spain to Bhubaneswar is to find my mother. Even though it is difficult, I am ready for it,” said Sneha.

Sneha is returning to Spain for educational purposes but plans to come back to India in March to continue her search. Somu could not join her due to his busy work schedule. The landlord’s information suggests that their parents are from the Badamba-Narsinghpur area of Cuttack district. Sneha and Gema Vidal have involved local police and panchayat authorities to assist in the search before returning to Spain.
